Robert E. Huffman Sr.

Robert E. “Bob” Huffman Sr., age 97, passed away on September 13, 2023.

He was born on November 11, 1925, in Alliance, to Willard and Gertrude (Meadows) Huffman.

Bob attended Alliance High School. He worked for B&W Tube in Alliance for 37 years until his retirement in 1983. Bob served honorably in the Army in the 69th infantry during WWII and on the Railroad Battalion during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of The Vine United Methodist Church and a past Commander of the Alliance VFW #1036. Bob also served as transportation officer for Alliance Civil Defense.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Betty Jo (Earl) Blevins, Ruth Springer, June (Richard) Billings; son, Robert (Jolene) Huffman Jr.; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy E. (Green) Huffman; daughter, Rachel (Huffman) LaNave; four sisters; and three brothers.

A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, September 18th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at The Vine United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m. with Shannon Sampson officiating.

Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
