Robert N. James, age 66, of Alliance, died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He was born August 11, 1941 in Massillon, Ohio to Attorney Willard R. and Helen (Nelson) James.
Robert was a graduate of Alliance High School and Walsh University and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University. He was a practicing attorney in Alliance at James and James Law Firm and also was a former substitute judge in the Alliance Municipal Court.
He was member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Alliance Bar Association, American Bar Association, Walsh College Alumni Association, Alliance B.P.O. Elks #467, active board member of the Fairbanks Manor Association in Pompano Beach, FL. He had a great love for deep sea fishing and traveling and an even greater love for spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (McCrea) James of Alliance; son Michael Johnston of N. Canton; two grandchildren, Brittany L. and Ryan M. Johnston; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Monsignor James R. Kolp of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
