Robert Roy “Bob” Kamph, age 87, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Aultman Alliance Community Care Center.
He was born January 17, 1935 at the family home in West Lebanon, Ohio to Raymond and Emma (Lemon) Kamph.
Robert had been employed at Sugardale Foods, and was a member of the Sugardale Retiree Breakfast Club.
A U. S. Army Veteran, he attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Bob enjoyed watching the Pittsburg Steelers, New York Yankees, Michigan Wolverines, and Georgetown Hoya’s; and was an avid fan of girls fastpitch softball. An avid prayer warrior, Robert loved dogs, going to auctions, his backyard deer-feeder, RFD TV, and HIS John Deere Tractor.
He will be loved and missed by his family, including his wife, Mary Jean (Hofacre) Kamph, whom he married September 3, 1960; children, Tammy (Rick) Kempthorne, of North Canton, and Troy (Susan Coy) Kamph, of Minerva; grandchildren, Justin (Erin) Kempthorne of North Canton, Layne and Olivia Kamph, of Minerva; great-grandchildren, Liam and Rowyn Kempthorne; step-great-granddaughter, Riley Casseday of Norton; niece, Cindy Halley; nephew, Robbie Ferrebee; and many extended family members and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Grace Ferrebee, and nephews, Tim and Jeff Ferrebee.
Services will be held at Noon Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Bruce Brugger officiating, per Robert’s request.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until Noon on Saturday.
Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park at a later date.
