Robert L. Kidd Sr

Robert L. “Bob” Kidd Sr., age 73, of Alliance, is now traveling the streets of gold with God. Bob passed away at 5:25 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018, at McCrea Manor.

He was born October 4, 1945, in Walton, West Virginia to Herman and Florence (Harper) Kidd.

Bob had worked at Alliance Ware, Alliance Rubber, American Steel and Royal China before retiring as a Crane Operator from B&W Tube after 29 years of service.

A member of Alliance Baptist Temple, Bob had God given talents for gardening and landscaping. He loved animals, and enjoyed taking his cars to the car shows.

Bob and Carol worked as a team ‘wrangling’ stray dogs and locating their owners. He made the “Caution Duck Crossing” signs on Parkway Blvd. for the ducks safety; loved his dog, Cookie; and was a huge supporter of Angels for Animals.

Bob was also a member of the Louisville and Alliance Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, Carol (Haidet) Kidd; children Robert L. (Lynne) Kidd Jr., Jeffery (fiancée Beth Hill) Clark, and Melissa (Scott) Phillips; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings; Bill Kidd, Richard Kidd, Eula Seabolt, and Jewel Moreno; and constant friend and companion through the years, his former wife, Bonnie Kidd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Gene, Opal, Dolly, Maxine, Ellamae, and Sadie.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
