Robert L. Lentz Sr., age 85, of Sebring died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born April 15, 1922 in Salem, Ohio to Raymond and Nellie (Elliott) Lentz and was a lifelong area resident.
Robert graduated from Salem High School, was a salesman for National Home and Life Insurance, a Route Boss and Milkman for Beverly Farms and was a franchise owner for Charles Chip for the state of Ohio.
He was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ and was a life member of the DAV, VFW and the American Legion.
Robert was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in the Big Red One and was disabled during the war.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine A. Rankin Lentz of Sebring, whom he married June 7, 1969; son, Robert (Denise) Lentz Jr. of Alliance; daughter, Sandra (Todd) Weir of St. Jacobs, IL; four grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole Lentz and Angela and Geraldine Weir; one great granddaughter, Anastasia Weir, one step-son, Ray (Judith) Collins of Richmond KY; one step-daughter, Sherry (Robert) Lippiatt of Pompano Beach, FL; six step grandchildren, Theresa (James) Hahn, Bobbi Jo Campbell, Rusty (Amy) Collins, Scott (Nicola) Collins, Adam Collins, Heidi Greenamyer, step-great grandchildren, Justin and Bailey Campbell, Mikayla and Hunter Hahn, Jenny, Alison, Rachel, Sara-Jane, Amber-Lynn and Emily Collins.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Garnetta Volpe and Isla Horsefall; first wife, Geraldine Waffler Lentz, and brother, Joseph Lentz.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis of the Bethel United Christian Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
