Robert L. Locke, age 87, of Alliance, passed away Monday afternoon, July 27, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
He was born on March 28, 1933, in Carrollton, Ohio to Ermine and Helen (Kerr) Locke. After high school, he went on to serve his country honorably in the US Navy, where he obtained the rank of Seaman 1st Class during the Korean Campaign from 1950-1954.
He retired from American Steel Foundry in 1994, as the Superintendent of the Core Department after 31 years.
Robert was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
After his retirement, he loved traveling throughout the United States, especially by Amtrak. He also enjoyed the Alliance Senior Center bus trips.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Nancy G. Locke, whom he married June 25, 1955; sons, R. Mark (Karen) Locke of Alliance, Jeffrey J. (Tammy) Locke of Pearland, TX; and daughter, Donna Jean (John) Webster of Alliance; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joseph E. Locke.
A private graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
