Robert P. Martinock, age 77, of Alliance, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at his home.
He was born February 16, 1932 in Englewood NJ. to Peter and Veronica (Rice) Martinock.
Robert was a 1949 graduate of Memorial High School in West New York, NJ. and attended Fairleigh Dickenson College in Teaneck, NJ. He was owner of Mid America Marketing for 15 years and was also a sales manager for San Cap Abrasives for twenty nine years.
Robert attended Union Ave. United Methodist Church and was a member of the Salvation Army for ten years and served as board member, secretary, and president.
A United States Naval Air Reserve Veteran, he was an Aircraft Mechanic Second Class from 1950 to 1960.
Survivors include his wife Berneice (Youngling) Martinock of Alliance, whom he married August 22, 1953; his son, Lee R. Martinock of Orlando, FL.; daughter, Beryl A Gilmartin of Alliance, OH.; four grandchildren; Crystal and Melinda Sullivan, Brian R. Gilmartin, and MacKenzie Martinock; two great-grandchild, Joshua and Patricia Bosco; a brother, Gary Martinock of Bayville, NJ. and sisters, Hedy Michelson of Chesapeake, VA. and Barbara Kawensky of Bloomfield, NJ. Robert was also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyte Wilhelm of Union Ave. United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
