Robert Arthur Meek, age 90, of Alliance Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 18.
He was born on June 4, 1933, in Alliance to Arthur and Lucille (Gantz) Meek.
Robert was a professional salesman, working most notably for Air Rite Service Supply, Lavery Chevrolet and Crisci Food Service. He served honorably during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force, and was a Methodist in faith.
Robert was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Conrad Masonic Temple, the Tadmor Shrine, the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, the Sebring VFW, the North Georgetown American Legion and the Alliance Elks. He was an accomplished musician, playing saxophone and clarinet. His musical career included being a member of the US Air Force Band, as well as entertaining many throughout the area over the years. He was also a member of the Elks German Band, raising money for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. He also served as a Vice President of the Friends of the Park Board.
Robert enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and traveling, especially to see dear friends in Canada.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sally, with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2023; his daughters, Gayla (Guy) Norelli and Robin (Earl) Hobson; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Coco.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jackie Flick.
Per Robert's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 1645 W 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
