Robert W. Parkison, age 70, of Alliance, died at 8:44 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born August 17, 1939, in Alliance to Wade R. and Dorothy M. (Crist) Parkison.
Robert was a graduate of Alliance High School and attended Kent State University and Michigan State University. He was formerly employed by 48/Fibrex Co. as a Vice President, and later retired as Sales Manager for Williamson GMC Trucks in 1992.
Robert was a member of the BPOE No. 467 of Alliance, the Sebring Country Club, and the American Legion Post No. 574 of North Georgetown.
Robert enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren, golfing, bowling, and was an avid historian of World War II. Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran having serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. (Becker) Parkison, whom he married March 13, 1959; one daughter, Barbara A. (Jon) Hunt; and his son, William E. (Barbara) Parkison, both of Alliance. He is also survived by two grandsons; William Parkison Jr. and Brandon S. Hunt; a granddaughter, Alexis M. Hunt and three step grand-daughters, Charlotte Moore, Casey Moore and Crystal Knik.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14th, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
