Robert F. (Bob) Phillippi, age 82, of Alliance, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Alliance Community Care.
He was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Alliance, OH, to Abram and Lucile Phillipi.
Bob was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He served his country in the Korean War. He was a retired postman, delivering mail in Alliance for more than 30 years.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, couponing and watching Indians, Bengals and his favorite, Purple Raiders. He was a season ticket holder for University of Mt. Union football.
He is survived by his sons, David (Carrie) Phillippi of Cincinnati, Tim Phillippi of St. Augustine, Fl.; daughter Rebecca (Earl) Clements of Cape Coral, Fl.; grandchildren Conner Phillippi of Cincinnati, Tricia Phillippi of North Canton; Kyle Clements, Katy Clements-Damas and Gayle Clements-Clute of Cape Coral, Fl.; several great-grandchildren; brother Michael Phillipi of Milton, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Joseph A. Peters. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Creek Public Library, 2988 High Street, Rock Creek, Ohio 44084
