Robert L. Wiles Sr

Robert L. Wiles, Sr. age 80, of Alliance, passed away at 1:27 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born October 7, 1934, in Alliance, Ohio, to Russell C. and Mildred K. (Brower) Wiles.
Robert was employed as a heater at Transue and Williams Forge until his retirement. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, gardening and he continued the hundred year old family tradition of making maple syrup.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Rowley) Wiles whom he married April 1, 1957; children, Robert Lee Wiles Jr. of Alliance, Frank D. (Jodi) Wiles of Limaville, Tammy Sue McIlvain of Youngstown, Becky Wiles of Garretsville, Cathy Mae Suggett of Youngstown and Jeffery L. Wiles of Alliance; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Wiles of Houston, Texas; and sister, Judith Ann Walker of Arcadia, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce Eldon Wiles; and a brother, Delbert Wiles.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Dowler officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, and from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service on Thursday.
