Robert Lee Zimpelman, age 69, of Alliance, passed away at 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Oakhill Manor.
He was born November 21, 1942, in Alliance, Ohio, to John H. and Irene O. (Bartlett) Zimpelman.
Robert attended Alliance High School and was employed for more than 25 years at Sancap as a cutter.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was also a life member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV.
Survivors include his brother, Don Zimpelman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his sisters; Lucille Greene of Birmingham, Alabama and Frances (Dick) Grace of Paris, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Johnny, killed in WWII, Leonard and Carl Zimpelman; and two sisters, Irene Everett and Rose Marie Weibel.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Chaplin Charles Cooper officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
