Robert E. Oyster

"Together Again"

Robert E. Oyster, age 81, of Alliance, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Community Care Center.

He was born August 12, 1938, in Alliance, Ohio to Vincent E. and Emma L. (Richards) Oyster.

Robert was a graduate of Alliance High School. He had been a farmer and also worked for Transue & Williams Company and American General Insurance.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Alliance Elks Lodge No. 467 and served as Exalted Ruler from 1999-2001, 32° Mason with Masonic Scottish Rite and an associate member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his children, Becky S. (Robert) McMasters, Jeffrey A. Oyster, Kathy A. (Kevin) Lipely and Tammy L. (Gregory) Hagge, all of Alliance; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Lynn D. (Jerri) Oyster of Alliance.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. (Heltman) Oyster whom he married March 30, 1957 and who died January 2, 2018; and two infant daughters, Lori and Diane Oyster.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2020 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Cannon Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
