Rodger "Pappy" Huffman

Rodger Lee "Pappy" Huffman, age 68, of Akron, passed away at 6:45 a.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Canal Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born May 24, 1950, in Westerville, Ohio, to Rev. Aubrey L. "Bud" and Laura R. (Harmon) Huffman.
Rodger was a graduate of Buchtel High School and had attended Akron University. He enjoyed coin collecting.
Survivors include his sisters, Sue (Mark) Linsenmayer, Donna (Jim Rhea) Huffman, Mary (Ed) Smeltz and Jane (Bob) Herbst; generations of many nieces and nephews; Akron North Hill "family"; and numerous lifelong friends.
In addition to his parents, Rodger is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Huffman.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Elaine Weaver officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Alliance City Cemetery at a later date.
