Ronald E. Beutler, age 91, of Sebring, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1924, in Alliance, Ohio, to Edward Harry and Alma Laura (Snode) Beutler. A World War II veteran, he lived all his life in the area except for three years while serving in the United States Army Air Corps and two years living in New Jersey.
Ronald was a graduate of Alliance High School, employed at William Fites and Son and retired as plant manager at D.T. Air Filter in Alliance.
He was a well-known area trombonist active at his death and a member of the Alliance City Band, Alliance Symphony Orchestra, 671st Air Corp Band, New Jersey Hillsdale Volunteer Fire Department Band, Canal Fulton Band, Canfield Band, Salem City Band and Good Old Boys Senior Band along with many local dance bands. He was also a member of the BPOE Elks No. 467, American Legion Post 166 and Musicians Local III and was recognized as a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
A veteran of the United States Army Air Corps Ronald served overseas in India.
Survivors include his sons, Roger (Carol) Deming Beutler of Scottsdale, Arizona and Wayne Edward (Donna) Beutler of Alliance; daughter, Kathleen Ann Yeagley of Alliance; four granddaughters; two grandsons; six great-grandsons; eight great-granddaughters; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Grace (Deming) Beutler whom he married December 2, 1944 at St. Thomas Episcopal Cathedral in New York City and who died March 2, 2006; brother, Kenneth Leo Beutler; son, Glenn Kenneth Beutler; and son-in-law, Danny Yeagley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio.
