Ronald Jacobs

January 13, 1931 — October 15, 2008

Ronald Sheridan Jacobs, age 77, of Alliance went to be home with the Lord and Savior at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 with his two daughters at his side.
He was born January 13, 1931 in Marlboro, Ohio to Virgil S. and Vestal M. (Miller) Jacobs and lived most of his life in Alliance. He was a crane operator at Alliance Structural Steel before his retirement.
Mr. Jacobs was a born again believer and lived his entire life faithful in his beliefs. He enjoyed the simple things in life.
Ronald was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War as an ambulance driver. He was a former member of the American legion Post #166 of Alliance.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Paul) Phillips and Pamela (Steve) Cabassa; five grandchildren, Paul (Kristin) Phillips II, Paula (Jesse) Baughman, Josh (Jenny) Leask, Steven Cabassa Jr. and Melissa (Danny) Simons; nine great-grandchildren; a half-sister Evelyn Hahn; and his longtime companion Mary Quiroga; one niece and one nephew.
Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Viola Rupp; one great-grandson, Elijah Phillips; and one niece.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Paul E. Phillips of Liberty Bible Church officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Liberty Bible Church, 2215 St. Rt. 183, Atwater, Ohio, 44201. A special thank you to the Alliance Hospice Association and other caregivers for their exceptional care.
