Ronald Lloyd Neely, age 77, of Canton, passed away at 6:30 pm, Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born February 12, 1938, in Alliance to Charles L. and Evelyn (Williams) Neely.
Ron was an entrepreneur and was founder and owner for many years of Filnor Inc., which manufactures electrical equipment.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Corp of Engineers and was Soldier of the month. Ron was also a member of K.O.C. of Alliance.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche whom he married June 8, 1957; two daughters, Kathleen (Monty) Hoopes of Uniontown, Ohio and Amy Lynn (Lars) Vigen of Denmark, Europe; two sons, Ronald Lloyd (Luann) Neely Jr. of Kinston, NC and James Charles (Ginger) of Alliance; two sisters, Joyce Barber and Nancy Craig; two brothers, Jeff and Kevin Neely; 8 grandchildren, Megan, Mallory, Taylor, Helena, Anders, Robyn, Hannah and Erik and one great grandchild, Elaina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron will be remembered by friends and family as fun loving and the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and was good at making people laugh. He loved his family fiercely and he made a big impact on many people's lives. He was an avid fisherman, loving to be on the water with the wind in his hair. He was artistic, intelligent and successful.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Donald Feicht officiating. Friends may call from noon to 2 pm before the service.
