Ronald L. Russell

Ronald L. Russell, age 88, of Minerva passed away on October 22, 2021.

He was born on April 12, 1933 in Alliance to John L. Russell Sr. and Mary Ellen Bennion.

Ronald graduated from Alliance High School in 1951 then went on to attend Mount Union College and the University of Akron Law School. He served honorably in the United States Navy and Airforce and was a lifelong member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Ronald was an Air Ground Officer, Aviation Officer, served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and on the USS Intrepid. Ronald also served as a Judge Advocate and on the Air Force Reserves.

Ronald practiced law in Alliance for over 35 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Leslie J. (Rob) Russell-Pendergass, David W. (Beverly) Russell and Steven E. Russell; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; companion, Ree Ann Whitacre and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joanne Block, whom he married on September 22, 1954 and who passed on April 1, 1999; and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Monday Nov. 1st at 3 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.
