Rosalia "Rose" M. Walter age 93 of Alliance, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday June 11, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born October 14, 1910 in Oil City, Pennsylvania to Adam and Rosalia (Ellert) Schiffer, and moved to the Alliance area in 1940.
Mrs. Walter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, Infant of Prague, and past member of the Alliance Garden Club, Alliance Woman's Club, Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary, and Alliance Chapter of the American Red Cross.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela K. Schopp of Alliance, and Patricia I. (Barry) Ketterer of Chesapeake, VA, six grandchildren; David (Mary Beth), Kristen (James), Robert, Kathryn, Robert and Jason, three great-grandchildren; Hannah, Jarrod and Jordan, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Irving Walter, whom she married June 22, 1940, and who died in November, 1974, two brothers, Adam Schiffer, and Eugene Schiffer, and three sisters; Jeanne A. Dickson, Mary Remus Ulicki, and Irene Ortlieb.
Private Services will be held Monday at Highland Memorial Park Chapel with Father Donald Feicht officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park.
