Rose F. McAlister

Rose F. McAlister, age 85, of Alliance, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Community Care Center.
She was born March 24, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, to Thomas H. Spall and Leopoldine (Jakesch) Spall.
Rose was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School and graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Elementary Education in 1968. She was employed by Rudolph Bros. Grocery and taught elementary education at Marlington Local Schools for ten years.
She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, NEHGS, National Genealogy Society, and Clan McAlister of America. Rose was a former member of Marlboro Junior Women's Club and Akron University Law Wives' Club.
Rose enjoyed going to Wednesday Breakfast Club, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Don E. McAlister, whom she married April 23, 1949; children, Cynthia McAlister of Alliance, James (Melisha) of Hartville and David (Janet) McAlister of Atwater; grandchildren, Michael (Shelly) McAlister, Douglas McAlister, Ann McAlister and Jessica (Eric) Francis; great- granddaughter, Claire McAlister ;and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents;and siblings, Hilda Stratton, Olga Spall, William Spall, Emil Spall and Walter Spall.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2016, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Manner officiating. Friends may call Sunday, May 1st from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
