Rose Mowen

Rose (Leech) Mowen, age 83, passed away peacefully, December 13, 2022.

She was born to Ross D. & Ada M. (Wilden) Leech in Marlboro Twp. December 30, 1938, the youngest of 13 children. Rose married the love of her life, William A. Mowen I, June 13, 1953 and remained happily married for 43 years until his passing on November 3, 1996.

Rose was a lifelong resident of Alliance, Ohio until last two years where she resided in Westminster, Colorado with her son. Rose retired in December 1996 after over 30 years from Genie Company. She formerly worked at Keener Rubber.

Rose enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, watching and collecting movies, traveling and visiting states across the country, visiting with family and friends, feeding her hummingbirds and playing video games with her grandson. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Robert Leech; son William (Roxanne) Mowen; daughters, Loretta Mowen and Christine (Jeffery) Schade; grandchildren, Jaclyn, Saralyn, Cindy, Victor; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brothers, Carl Leech, William Leech, Lloyd Leech, Glenn Leech, Delbert Leech, and Theodore Leech; Sisters, Clara Prickett, Katherine Cooksey, Betty McCann, Janet Mohr, and Lillie Nothing; her son, Robert Mowen; and a granddaughter, Gwendolyn.

A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Wednesday,  January 18th at 12:00-2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Atwater Cemetery with Pastor, Mike Doak of First Christian Church in Alliance officiating.
