Ruth (Mani Dunstan) Fiegenschuh died quietly at her home January 29, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born July 2, 1923, in Canton, Ohio, to John F. and Ida (Lentz) Mani.
Ruth graduated from Lehman High School ('41) and earned her business degree from Mount Union College ('45).
She was a bank teller, bookkeeper, wife and devoted mother during her years in Cleveland and Alliance. She was an active member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She and her husband Bill were loyal Mount Union College fans. They also resided for several years at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community meeting new friends.
During her time in Cincinnati, Ruth embraced travel and change. At 90, she learned to text and peruse Facebook on her smart phone. This was an extension of her lifelong avocation of corresponding with and keeping in touch with friends and family.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nanci (Jeff) Daniher of Cincinnati; brother, George (Martha) Mani of Canton; stepson, Dr. Bill (Sandi) Fiegenschuh of Alliance; stepdaughter, Judy (Wayne) Huffman of Leland, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Ian, Megan, Sean, Mike, Matt, Martha, Meredith, Clay and Erik: and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Mani; sister, Lois Eagleton; son, TJ Dunstan; first husband, Tom Dunstan; and second husband of 32 years, Bill Fiegenschuh who died in 2011.
Friends may call from 12 to 5 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the family home at 1158 Abbott Rd. Batavia, OH, 45103. A brief service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 3295 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601 with a luncheon following.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or an organization of the donor's choice.
