Ruth V. Grimes, age 79, of Alliance, died at 10:47 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born November 23, 1929 in Sistersville, West Virginia to Samuel J. and Myrtle M. (Beaver) Steed and resided in Alliance since 1941.
Ruth was employed by Sancap Abrasives until her retirement in 1980 after twenty seven years.
Survivors include her son, Gerald A. (Suzanne) Grimes of St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada; her grandsons, Kelly Grimes of Columbus, Ohio, Korey Grimes of San Francisco, CA and Jeremy Grimes of Columbus, Ohio; two great grandsons; and one great granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James I. Grimes who died October 11, 2001; two sisters, Leona Hart and Marcello Steed; one brother, James Steed, two infant sisters; and two infant brothers.
Private services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Ave. Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
