Ruth E. Hillman, age 73 of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Alliance, died at Legacy House Hospice Center in Ocala, Florida at 10:45 p.m. Feb. 6, 2006.
She was born Oct. 9, 1932 in Spencer, West Virginia to Walter C. and Ruth Maude (Webb) Ferrell and lived in Alliance most of her life.
Mrs. Hillman graduated from Greensburg High School and was employed as a Bus Driver with the Marlington School District for 27 years, retiring in 1997.
A member of the Alliance Baptist Temple, she was also a member of the Amateur Roller Skating Association, and served as a Certified Judge.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Hillman Sr., whom she married May 3, 1960; children, Rick F. (Kathy) Hillman of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Terrie (Ray) Foley of Ocala, Florida, Edward (Sandra) Hillman Jr. of Alliance, Ohio, Hugh Hillman of Hanoverton, Ohio, and Shannon (Allan) Strzala of Alliance, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Heather Hart of Canton, Ohio and Lexi Strzala of Alliance, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and many aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Saturday and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
