Ruth Jones

Ruth Jones, age 95, of Sebring, formerly of Alliance, passed away at 11:45 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, at Copeland Oaks.
Ruth was born December 11, 1922, in Alliance, Ohio, to Allison D. Thompson and Lillian W. (Watkins) Thompson Marschinke.
A 1940 graduate of Alliance High School, Ruth graduated in 1970 from Mount Union College and taught first grade for 20 years at Lexington Elementary School.
A member of First United Presbyterian Church, Ruth was also a member of Alpha Xi Delta Alumna, Retired Teachers Association, Alliance Woman's Club, and Alliance Duplicate Club.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. William A. (Bobbi) Jones of Boise, Idaho, and Bruce R. (Nancy) Jones of St. Charles, Illinois; daughter, Barbara Hamlin of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Dick and Ruth Jones married May 1, 1943 and shared 74 years of marriage. She passed away less than 48 hours before her husband, Dick.
Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Christine George.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bennett Chapel at Copeland Oaks.
