Ruth O. Popa, age 80 of Alliance, died at her home at 5:17 p.m. July 10, 2005.
She was born August 16, 1924 in Mahoning County, Ohio to John Charlton and Viola (Mead) Adams Charlton.
Mrs. Popa attended Alliance Public Schools and was employed by Alliance Manufacturing for 18 years, and was the owner of the former Willow Point Drive Inn in Alliance.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sisters; Clara Mosby of Trona, California and Betty (Wilbur) Haidet of Louisville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Popa, whom she married Aug. 31, 1946 and who died Sept. 7, 1981, two sisters, Elsie Gabbel and Mary Berlin, three half-brothers, John, Jim and Albert Adams, and one half-sister, Vanie Hein.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor William Sadler officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
