Ruth Smith Sweitzer

Ruth Smith Sweitzer, age 94, of Jacksonville, Texas, died of natural causes August 21, 2015, in Jacksonville. She was born May 6, 1921, in Marlboro, Ohio, to Forrest and Mary Smith. She graduated from Marlboro High School in 1939 and was a member of First Christian Church of Alliance. Ruth was an avid bridge player and Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns football fan. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mary Brown of Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Penny Brown of Jacksonville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Sweitzer; sister, Twyllah Nunamaker; and brothers, Marlin Smith of Marlboro, Ohio and Harvey Smith of Akron, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Marlboro Cemetery. In place of memorials or flowers, the family request Ruth's friends take their family out to dinner and enjoy one anothers fellowship. Create a happy memory in her honor.
