Ruth Wachsman

Ruth Anne Wachsman, age 82 of Alliance, died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday February 24, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1923 in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph and Leona (Legros) Bert.
Mrs. Wachsman graduated from Alliance High School, and received her Bachelors degree in education from Kent State University in 1944.
She retired in 1985 after teaching in Alliance for 35 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1967. Ruth was also a member of the American Legion, Alliance Senior Center, Club 55 at church, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Retired Teachers Association, and was a Martha Jennings Scholar.
Mrs. Wachsman enjoyed playing cards, reading and traveling.
Survivors include three children, Daved (Debbie) Ford of Bangkok, Thailand, Ronald D. (Sally) Ford of Alliance, and Linda Ruth Ford of Alliance; three step-children, Linda Kay (Dave) Polcyn of Medina, Robert L. (Deneen) Wachsman of Alliance, and Keith C. (Cheryl) Wachsman of Perrysburg; seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert F. Wachsman, whom she married Nov. 18, 1967, and who died Jan. 24, 2005, her step-mother, Erma Bert and one sister.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
