Sallie M. Summers, age 75, of Conway, SC, formerly of Alliance, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Conway Medical Center.
She was born June 2, 1934 in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania to John and Dorothy (Roger) Haldeman.
A member of the Lutheran faith, Sallie was formerly employed at Coastal Pet Products until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Dante Society and enjoyed roller skating.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Summers, whom she married May 3, 1952; her children, Kelly Norman of SC, Shelly Summers of Nevada, Ronnie Summers of Surfside, SC and John Summers of Alliance; and her siblings, Mary Reed, Georgia Emrich, Barbara Fritz and John Haldeman, all of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, United States Army Pfc. Danny Norman Jr., 18, Robert Goodwin, 15, Marissa Summers, 14, Ryan Summers, 12, Tyler Summers, 4.
Sallie was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Lowe of Damascus Friends Church officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
