Sally (Johnson) Anderson, age 64 of Alliance, died suddenly at 12:30 p.m. Sunday January 16, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, to whom she was married for 45 years, a son John and his wife Rebecca; two grandchildren, Dylan, age 6 and Sarah age 3, and a brother, J. Walter Johnson, of Canton.
Sally was born in Akron, Ohio on August 1, 1940 to J. Walter and Laverne (Snyder) Johnson, and was a graduate of Old Trail School in Fairlawn, Ohio. She attended Mount Union College and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
She was an avid runner who crossed the finish line of the Cleveland Revco Marathon four times, and completed many half-marathons. Sally and Jerry won the Ohio Challenge Triathlons comprised of six events in the Ohio State Parks in two consecutive summers. Last season, the Anderson Team won the Indoor Archery Championship at Westville Indoor Range.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Carl H. Fischer of All Shepherds Lutheran Church in Lewis Center, Ohio and Rabbi John Spitzer of Temple Israel co-officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
