Sally Green

Sally Ruth Green, age 80, of Marlboro passed away Sunday evening May 30, 2010.
She was born in Avon, Ohio to LaVerne and Ruth (Miller) Henson. She has resided in Marlboro Township since age 3. Sally graduated from Marlboro High School in 1948 as the class valedictorian. Since that time she has reacquainted and kept in touch with her classmates by planning and attending many class reunions.
Her family was blessed to have her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Sally loved her home and family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating and reading.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney (Susie) Green of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Thomas Green of Louisville; two daughters, Diane Green and Barbara (Paul Heilman) Broadwater of Marlboro; five grandchildren, LoraJean, Shannon, Ryan, Briana and Ross; three great grandchildren, Courtney, Cameron and Tyler; one brother, Robert Henson of Lake Placid, Fla. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph L. Green whom she married February 14, 1951 and who died September 18, 1995 and one grandson David Ross Broadwater.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday June 4, 2010 with Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call Thursday June 3, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home or one hour prior to the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Rd, Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
