Samuel Augustus Cullum, age 15, of Alliance, died at his home at 10:30 p.m. March 24, 2004.
Samuel was born January 12, 1989 at home in Lexington Township to Joseph and Ruth (Bleckert) Cullum.
He was a freshman at Marlington High School. Samuel had wrestled for two years at Marlington Middle School, and received the Most Improved Award. He participated in one year of football at Marlington Middle School, participated in the Destination Imagination Team, through the gifted program.
Samuel was active in the Alliance Community Soccer Club, and enjoyed fishing, biking, rock climbing, and music.
He was loved by a large circle of friends.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Cullum, of Alliance, his sister, Melody (Denton) Boals, of Salem, his paternal grandmother; Lucy Cullum of Canton; his maternal grandmother, Jean Bleckert, of Ft. Myers, Fla., one niece, Camille Boals, two nephews, Michael and Andrew Boals, two aunts, Kate Cullum and Rosemary Brewer, three uncles, Pete Cullum, Jim Cullum, and Jack Bleckert, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leo Cullum, his maternal grandfather, John Bleckert, and one uncle, Robert Bleckert.
Private Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Private Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and Public Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
