Samuel Paul Gillingham

Samuel Paul Gillingham age 66, of Alliance died at 12:55 p.m. September 6, 2007 at his home.
He was born November 29, 1940 in Alliance, Ohio to Louis and Myrtle Gillingham.
Sam was a 1958 graduate of Alliance High School and attended Malone College.
He retired from The Alliance Review after 42 years, worked two years at the Hoover Company and until his illness was employed as a school crossing guard at Rockhill School.
Sam enjoyed building puzzles, watching his team "The Cleveland Browns" and especially spending time with his family, friends and special friends Jim and Sheila Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary L. Englehart Gillingham whom he married June 1, 1964; two sons, Sam (Nancy) Gillingham Jr. of East Canton and Kevin L. (Erin) Gillingham of Sebring; eleven grandchildren, Tricia, Ashley, Abbigail, Nathaniel, Alyssa, Zachary, Andrew and Christmas Joy, all of East Canton and Hunter Nicole, Rianna and Neely, all of Sebring.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Gilbert Goodwin, Outreach Pastor of the Alliance Friends Church and Rev. Mike Kimball of the Sebring Church of the Nazarene officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Road, Ste. 106, Alliance, Ohio.
