Samuel H. Riley, age 75, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 8:40 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born July 27, 1940 in Monterville, West Virginia to Raymond Neal and Madolyn (Upton) Riley.
A 1959 graduate of Akron East High School, Sam was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 38 years.
Sam was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hartville, where he served as a Church Elder and member for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching and traveling; but especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Linda D. (Vass) Riley, whom he married July 22, 1961; five sons, Chris Riley of Okinawa, Japan, Scot Riley of Colorado, Aaron (Brooke) Riley of Alliance, Ohio, Andy (Amanda) of Louisville, Ohio, Danny (Lindsay) Riley of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Michele (Marc) Ohmer of Morrisville, New York, and Rita (Jim) Meyers of Alliance, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Sue) Riley; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin sons; and one sister, Susan Henry.
Sam believed that The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church, 120 Lake St. Hartville, Ohio 44632. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
