Sara Mae Binkley, age 93, of Alliance, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her home.
She was born June 18, 1916 in Shadyside, Ohio to Isaac and Ioa (Boles) Ambler and resided the majority of her life in Alliance.
Sara was employed by Alliance Manufacturing, and retired after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Alliance First Friends Church, where she was a member of the Friendship Class and the 60 Plus Group. She enjoyed baking and working in the yard.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret (Paul) Dickson; sons, Curtis (Dorothy) Binkley and Raymond Lewis Binkley Jr., all of Alliance; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Binkley whom she married October 16, 1933 and who died in 1956; seven sisters; and five brothers.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 at First Friends Church with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance First Friends Church, 1307 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio 44601 or to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Ave., Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
