Sara E. Lewis, age 79, of Alliance completed her journey to be home with our Lord, at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born July 2, 1929 in Alliance to John C. and Faye K. (Gilhausen) Dickey. A 1947 graduate of Alliane High School and a 1967 graduate of Timken Mercy LPN School, she was a loving and supportive Mother to her four children. She was a nurse at Alliance Community Hosptial until her retirement in 1991.
Sara loved her cats, including the many strays dropped off. She also enjoyed crocheting and researching geneology.
Sara attended Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was a very positive influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her many stories of the "Good Ole Days" will be missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Colleen M. Lewis of Alliance; three sons, Kerry A. (Rose) Lewis of Navarre, and Timothy D. Lewis and Richard C. (Tracy) Lewis, both of Alliance; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Reed of Alliance; and one niece and one nephew.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother Kenneth Dickey.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Michael Horvath officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
