Mrs. Savina Edwards, 81, of Walkerton, Indiana, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at 4:45 p.m. at La Porte Hospital.
She was born Aug 28, 1925, in Braxton County, W.VA., to Lloyd C. and Elizabeth (Dix) Weese.
Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker. She and her husband owned and managed a restaurant in Chicago until 1963. She enjoyed reading the Bible, farming, picking berries and canning fruits and vegetables. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was especially close to Ron and Karen Lowe, her grandson and grand daughter-in-law and their children, Le Anne, Brittany and Steven, who took care of her for many years.
On Dec. 30, 1946, she married Homer S. Edwards, who died in 1967.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Richard D. Edwards, four brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Houle and Marilyn King, both of Alliance, Ohio; one son, David (Joan) of Alliance; nine grandchildren, Ron Lowe, Susan Kinsley, Danny and Scott Hurst, Traci Fall, Aaron Grounds and Clayton, Shannon and Rachael Edwards; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
