Clara A. Schmaeman age 85, of Alliance, died at 11:15 p.m. Dec. 28, 2007 at Sterling House in Salem.
She was born May 23, 1922 in Sistersville, West Virginia to Stephen E. and Grace (Steed) Mudrick and moved to Alliance when she was nine days old.
In 1940, Clara graduated in 3 i�½ years from Alliance High School with an A average, and then attended secretarial school.
She worked as the Office Manager for 34 years at United Co-Op, and then became Co-Manager with her late husband at Carriage Arms, which she did for more than thirty years.
A member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Clara was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, AARP and life member of the DAV Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Schmaeman (Bruce) Tullys of Alliance; granddaughter, Lisa (Lewie) DeVore of Alliance; great-grandchildren, Lewie DeVore IV, Cole DeVore, and Jessica DeVore; sister-in-law Agnes Mudrick; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elwood Schmaeman, whom she married Oct. 18, 1940, and who died April 4, 1987; and three brothers, Walter J. Mudrick, Stephen E. Mudrick Jr., and George L. Mudrick.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Seifert of Regina Coeli Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 663 Fernwood Blvd. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
