Shawn Victor Barnes, Sr. age 44, of Alliance, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at his home.
He was born October 11, 1966, in Alliance to Beverly A. Barnes and Rhoderick Love.
Shawn was a graduate of Alliance High School, joined the United States Army in 1985 and became a certified welder.
He was a member of the First Friends Church and also attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Shawn liked collecting cars.
Shawn is survived by his mother; Beverly Barnes of Alliance; father, Rhoderick (Sheila) Love of Youngstown; seven children, Tashawna, Shawn V. Jr., Dashawn, Shawnnice, Shawnnia, and Victor Barnes, and Jamerica Richards; siblings, Duane and Brad Love, Timothy Edwards, Tomeka Myers and Javon Howell; and lifelong friend and caretaker, Maryann Winn.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Gil Goodwin officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
