Sheron L. Russell

Sheron L. Russell, age 72, of Damascus, passed away at 7:32 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born June 14, 1943, in Elmira, New York, to Arthur and Ernestine (Smith) Mapes.
Sheron was a 1961 graduate of West Branch High School.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a great mother and cook who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sheron also enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach, shopping, crossword puzzles and word searches.
She is survived by her husband, George W.H. Russell, whom she married November 20, 1970; daughters, Lori Zeigler of Alliance and Bobbie Russell of Struthers; son, Scott Paina of Minerva; step-sons, Rusty (Sharon) Russell of Salem and Les Russell of Akron; grandchildren, Paige and Kyle Zeigler, Erika Ayers, and Lance and Chris Russell; three great-granddaughters; sister, Betty Strong of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews.
Sheron was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Kelly and Roberta Schneider; and brother, Robert Mapes.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday March 19, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
