Shirley Ruth Draa

Shirley Ruth Draa, age 92, of Alliance, Ohio passed away at home on January 20, 2021.

She was born on April 10, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Emil and Glenna Mack.

Shirley graduated from Marlboro High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart Ted in 1948. She then graduated from National Beauty College and the Jane Skinner Modeling Academy. Shirley had a passion for modeling and did work for several Canton and Akron retail stores.  She was the Associate Director of the Miss North East Ohio Pageant, the preliminary pageant to Miss America, and the Carnation Fashion Show. Shirley also taught modeling and visual poise at the Patti Schaefer Studio. She loved anything to do with modeling and fashion. Shirley was an animal lover, she especially loved cats and dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne “Ted” Draa, whom she married September 11, 1948; her son, Michael (Patty) Draa of Danville; grandson, Theodore Draa of Belfast, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary; and a brother, Bob.

A private service will be held at a later date.
