Shirley A. (Knight) Whaley

Shirley A. (Knight) Whaley, age 72, of Alliance, passed away at 9:38 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Altercare of Alliance.

She was born October 2, 1946, in Alliance, Ohio, to Russell and Minnie (Dennis) Knight.

She was a graduate of Alliance High School and a member of the New Hope Church of God.

In addition to her two daughters, Karen Downes of Warren and Kim Ford of Alliance, Shirley is survived by six grandchildren, Sheri, Emily and Joseph Downes, Bruce Whaley and Austin and Ashley Ford; great-grandson, Jason Kelly Jr; brother, Clarence (Bev) Knight of Reynoldsburg and a sister, Mary Costlow of Alliance.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion L. Whaley, whom she married November 15, 1969 and who died May 3, 2011; and a grandson, Patrick Daniel Ford Jr.

A memorial service will be held at Noon, Monday, April 1, 2019, at New Hope Church of God with Pastor Brandon Wilbur officiating.
