Stacy West Jr. age 71, of Atwater, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday June 22, 2005 at his home.
He was born December 10, 1933 in Alliance Ohio to Stacy A. West Sr. and Cora L. (Johnson) West, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. West graduated from Alliance High School, and worked as a Fitter at Alliance Machine Company, retiring after 30 years of service. He then worked for SES for eleven years, before retiring.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and loved nature. Stacy was a blood donor, and received recognition for his numerous donations. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Della Jean (Ross) West, whom he married Jan. 25, 1955; three daughters, Connie Schoch of Washington, Joannie Suderman of Deerfield, and Pennie Sears of Atwater; grandchildren, Joy Suderman, Stacey Herrington, Lynn Cornell, Crystal Sears, and Nick Sears; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Herrington and Chase; one brother, Harold West of Alliance; and one sister, Leona Bettis of Atwater.
Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wallace and Paul.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, and one half-hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Atwater Cemetery.
