Stanley "Chet" Barker, age 78, resident of Alliance, died at 4:27 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at McCrea Manor.
Stanley was born on October 20, 1930 in Pedro, Ohio to Arlie L. Barker Sr. and Nancy A. (Collins) Barker Cracium.
He attended Alliance Public Schools. Stanley was a crane operator at Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Division until retiring after 33 years of service.
Mr. Barker was a US Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean War.
Survivors include five children, James L. (Margaret) Richards of Malvern, OH, Sharon E. (John) Barrera of Leesburg, GA, Nancy E. Holsopple of Canton, OH, Patty J. (Dan) Downer of Windham, ME and Robert L. (Pam) Barker of Uniontown, OH; Juanita E. Barker, former wife, of New Philadelphia, OH; nine grandchildren, Jimmy, Kelli, Sara, Justin, Steven, Ashley, Jordan, Amy and Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Aden, Zachary, Trey, Maggie and Ada; two brothers, Lloyd (Evelyn) Barker and Virgil (Pearl) Barker, both of Alliance, OH; three sisters Delores (Carl) Weigel and Faye Hollaway, both of Alliance, OH, and Eleanor (Art) Zimmerman of Watkinsville, GA.
Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arlie L. Barker Jr.; twin brother and sister, Leroy and Lenore Barker.
Memorial Services will be held at Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Downer of Lake Region Vineyard Church of Naples, ME officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
