Stanley L. Adams, age 94, of Alliance, passed away at 10:50 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Community Care Center of Alliance.
He was born April 16, 1925, in Alliance, Ohio to Charles and Jennie (Knox) Adams and was a lifetime Alliance resident.
Stanley was a member of the Class of 1943 at Alliance High School and was employed as a machinist and estimator at Alliance Machine Company until retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed carpentry, building his own house and gazebo, and also repaired and maintained 47 cars over the years.
Stanley was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served his country in the Pacific Theatre during World War II on a destroyer, the USS Hart.
His survivors include his wife, Jacqueline (Luginbuhl) Adams whom he married November 15, 1947; children, Susan (Lanny) Snode of Alliance; Calvin Adams of Ray, Michigan, Kathy Adams of Alliance and Carrie (Dean) Smith of Peninsula; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and special niece, Diane (Hirabayashi) Carter.
In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Kocher and Donna Dawson and a brother, Virgil Adams.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2019, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. James McCurdy of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
