Stephen "Steve" Craig Loar, age 57, of Alliance, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born October 27, 1954, in Alliance, to George B. and the late Anna E. (Ware) Loar.
A 1973 graduate of Marlington High School, Steve also attended Mount Union College.
He was formerly employed by Tire Shack, and spent most of his career at Grove Appliance as a sales representative and buyer for the last 28 years until his retiring.
He was a member of the Alliance Friend's Church, and an active member of the Alliance High School Band Boosters.
Steve was a guitarist in high school rock bands, Majority Vote and 31st Street Exit. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending plays, and going to concerts.
Survivors include his father, George B. Loar of Alliance; wife, Terri (Reeder) Loar of Alliance; daughter, Missy L. Loar of Ashland; son, Joshua Craig Loar, of the home; cousin, Danny (Char) Loar of Alliance; and many family and friends whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
