Steve Peti, age 91, of Alliance, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and his wife, Ottilie, at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at his loving daughter and son-in-law's home in South Lyon, Michigan.
He was born August 25, 1919, in Hederfaja, Hungary and was a resident of Alliance since 1952.
Steve was co-owner and operator at Peti's Meat Market from 1964 to 1992 and also a vendor at the Hartville Flea Market up until a few weeks prior to his passing.
He is survived by his son, Ralph (Susan) Peti of Alliance; his daughter, Rosemarie (Scott) Pifer of South Lyon, Michigan; three grandchildren, Tracy (Joe) Dean, Ryan (Julie) Peters and Jessica (Jeff) Bailey; and two great-grandchildren, Logan Dean and Madison Dean.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ottilie (Borst) Peti, whom he married May 26, 1951 and who died October 21, 2008.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
