Steven Lee Cathey

Steven Lee Cathey, age 52, of Akron, formerly of Alliance, passed away at 11:01 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born April 12, 1964, in Akron, Ohio, to Robert W. Sr. and Joyce F. (Taylor) Cathey.
A graduate of Marlington High School, Steven was a saw and shear operator for 17 years at the Wright Tool Company in Barberton and also at Wyman Gordon Forging.
Steven enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and playing corn hole. He also enjoyed attending Randolph, Stark County and Canfield fairs, watching the tractor pulls and the pigs.
Survivors include his daughters, Ashley Twaddle, Samantha Cathey and Lisa Cathey, all of Sebring; three grandchildren; sister, Kimberly (Lynn) Brodzinski of Alliance; and three brothers, Robert W. (Tanya) Cathey Jr. and Daniel E. (Susan) Cathey, both of Alliance and Ronald R. Cathey of Beloit; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and best friends, Terry and Dee Dee.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Steven's children for their discretion.
