Steven Lee Walker

Steven Lee Walker, age 55, of Alliance, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born May 15, 1951 in Alliance to Norman and Wilma (Dillon) Walker and was a lifelong resident.
Steven was a graduate of Alliance High School and attended Technical School. He was a mechanic at Hoover Company and retired in June, after more than 37 years of service. He operated a beef cattle farm and raised beef all his life.
Mr. Walker was an Executive Board Member of the Union at Hoover Company for many years, member of the Farm Bureau and Woodeye Investment Club. Steven loved working on cars and farm equipment, playing Texas hold-em, gardening, being outdoors, swimming, basketball, spending time with his grandchildren, riding 4-Wheelers with his grandsons and vacationing with his family. He also loved farming, plowing the fields and always helping others. Steven will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Wilma E. Walker of Alliance; wife, Linda K. (Schuckert) Walker whom he married July 20, 1978, two daughters, Lisa M. Walker Burns of Indiana and Michelle M. (Brandon) Walker Judd of Warren, OH; four grandchildren, Zachary Elbiali, Brandon "Jamal" Judd, Ryan Burns and Abby Burns; siblings Patty (Dick) Bruey of Louisville, Craig (Carolyne) Walker of Louisville and David Walker of Alliance; sister in law Debbie Walker; cousin Jeff Walker of Alliance, nieces Melissa Tourno, and Lindsey Walker; nephew Jonathan Walker; step-niece Dana (Brunoni) Gates and step-nephew Scott Brunoni. Steven was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno and Father Mike Seifert officiating.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
