Steven J.R. McCord

Steven J.R. McCord, age 31, of Alliance, passed away at 12:35 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1981, in Alliance, to Steven John McCord and Tonia (Campbell) Hubbs and was a lifetime Alliance resident.
Steve attended Alliance High School, enjoyed playing cards, going fishing and expressing his feelings of everyday life through his writing.
He is survived by his mother, Tonia Hubbs of Alliance; sister Cheyenne Hubbs, of Alliance; stepbrothers, Shawn McCord of Alliance and Mark Hubbs, Jr., of West Virginia; stepfather, Mark Hubbs of Alliance; close friend, Natalie Preas; aunts, Joann Sundberg, Gay-Ann Burns, Patricia Miller, Lisa Cox, Karen King and Sue McCord; several uncles; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steven McCord; uncles, Bobby and Ricky; maternal grandparents, Robert and Anna L. Campbell; paternal grandparents, Jack and Corinne McCord; and aunt, Debbie Campbell.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Martin officiating. Friends may call from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Steven's family to be used for their discretion.
